{"id":12796,"date":"2019-05-20T06:51:29","date_gmt":"2019-05-20T06:51:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.noabe.com\/help\/?p=12796"},"modified":"2025-12-18T11:52:51","modified_gmt":"2025-12-18T10:52:51","slug":"essence-call-transfer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.noabe.com\/help\/index.php\/essence-call-transfer\/","title":{"rendered":"Call transfer with the Essence phones"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>This feature is available for the majority of models of the Essence family (GDP-06i, GDP-06e, GDP-09, GDP-10, GDP-10i ).<\/em><\/p>\n<p>In the factory settings the call transfer request is sent to the network as the standard <strong>ECT<\/strong> (<strong>E<\/strong>xplicit <strong>C<\/strong>all <strong>T<\/strong>ransfer) signalling.<\/p>\n<p>Some mobile operators use a custom <strong>DTMF<\/strong> or <strong>USSD<\/strong> sequence instead of the ECT signalling, then\u00a0 your phone setting has to be set accordingly.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Call transfer using ECT<\/h3>\n<p>In the default factory setting of Essence phones, Call Transfer is done using the ECT function of the GSM network. Only some GSM networks support that function and it is usually enabled only on specific SIM cards. Please check with your GSM provider if the ECT call transfer is available in your network.<\/p>\n<p>The ECT function does not work reliably for 4G calls and we recommend you to use the Call Transfer using USSD or DTMF, if they are supported by your GSM network operator.<\/p>\n<p>After changing the Call Transfer settings, you can switch back to ECT by entering the code <strong>*##04*#<\/strong> and confirming it by the green key press.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Setting Call Transfer using USSD code<\/h3>\n<p>Some GSM networks support Call Transfer using USSD code. Example: <strong>*##04**21*777888999P+++++++++##<\/strong><\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>When the whole transfer-sequence should be dialed as a DTMF sequence, start the transfer-sequence with P (press the button 0 and hold it for 2 seconds to type P). Example: <strong>*##04*P*21*+++++++++##<\/strong><\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>When the whole transfer-sequence is sent as a DTMF sequence, process of making call transfer changes as follows: 1. During the call press the Transfer button. 2. Select\/Type desired phone number. 3. Confirm by the green button.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>How to check the phone\u2019s setting?<\/h3>\n<p>Dial the code on your phone:\u00a0 <strong>*##04#<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>When the phone responds with \u201c<strong>_ _<\/strong>\u201d Call Transfer using GSM ECT is active<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-15042 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.noabe.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/ECT2-e1747301091903.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"200\" \/><br \/>\n&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>If the response with the transfer pattern is without the &#8220;<strong>P<\/strong>&#8221; character then USSD call transfer is used<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-15043 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.noabe.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/ECT3-e1747301064830.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"200\" \/><br \/>\n&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>If there is the a \u201c<strong>P<\/strong>\u201d symbol in the sequence then the call transfer goes via DTMF<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-15044 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.noabe.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/ECT4-e1747301789582.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"200\" \/><br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\n&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>General remarks<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<li>When you redefine call transfer with these service codes, then both ways (&#8220;Transfer&#8221; button and all &#8220;Transfer&#8221; options in the menu) will work accordingly.<\/li>\n<li>You need to enter this service code only once, since that the phone follows your instructions any time when Transfer is pressed.<\/li>\n<li>You can have different service codes stored under the hot dial buttons and thus simply change behavior of the phone according the current need. (Eg. when your operator has sequence starting with *21* for direct call transfer and with *22* for call transfer with consultation, you can have <strong>*##04**21*+++++++++##<\/strong> stored under the first hot dial button and <strong>*##04**22*+++++++++##<\/strong> stored under the second hot dial button.
